The tests of the Ventura 400 Crossover in the bay waters, on a relatively calm day, with small waves and wind around 8 knots. On board, there were three people, 84 gallons of fuel, and 26 gallons of water. The 40-foot boat was equipped with two Volvo Penta V8 EVC DPS engines, 350 hp each.

When you sit at the helm, with a double seat, you will notice that it is a pleasant boat to pilot. Engines running, comes the certainty of being on board a navigator hull. To begin with, the speedboat goes into plan very quickly, slightly lifting the bow.

Afterward, it’s impressively fast, with tremendous sprinting. Acceleration is aggressive but sure, without ever getting out of control. In the tight curves, it slightly heels, but not so much as to awe the most unsuspecting, and keeps the speed steady while still maintaining a firm course. That feeling of total control is great, plus it’s fun to ride with emotion.

Cruising at around 24 knots, the boat proved smooth even when cutting through medium and choppy waves. To compensate for the slightly rough sea, we crossed the wakes of our boat and other larger boats that passed by, and the hull gently cushioned the impacts, not giving any strong blows.

On acceleration, the two V8s went from idle to 20 knots in 9.2 seconds. The top speed was a great 37.2 knots. Outside the Bay, there were waves over half a meter high, but mismatched by the average wind, and the boat showed the quality of the consecrated project, sailing with elegance and efficiency.

Stability was also tested, without it listing too much in tight corners. Anyway, a great big boat and another great success from Ventura Marine.

Ventura V400 measures 40 feet in length, including a 3-foot swimming platform. It measures 38 feet in length without the swim platform.
